Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The JetHawks got a pair of much-needed pitching performances and several timely hits as they open a three-game series with the Visalia Oaks with a 6-5 win Friday night at Clear Channel Stadium. The victory keeps the JetHawks alone in first-place in the California League's Southern Division with just 16 games left in the first half.

Needing innings from their starter after a couple of short outings in a row, Mike Rozier pitched a solid six innings for Lancaster. Giving up four runs, Rozier left with his team ahead and picked up his second win of the season, his first since April 25. Kevin Guyette allowed just one run on one hit over the final three innings to earn his second save of the year.

The JetHawks trailed 2-0 going into the third inning. The JetHawks opened that frame with four singles in a row. Bubba Bell and Tony Granadillo set the table for RBI hits by Zach Daeges, Aaron Bates, and Yahmed Yema. Mickey Hall added a RBI groundout to give the JetHawks a 4-2 lead. Daeges and Bates each drove in another run in the fourth inning.

Granadillo led the JetHawks with three hits. Bell, Daeges, and Bates each had two hits, with the latter two each contributing two RBI.

The JetHawks continue a three-game homestand Saturday night against the Visalia Oaks. Justin Masterson (2-4, 5.79) pitches for the JetHawks. The Oaks counter with former JetHawks pitcher Anthony Cupps (1-6, 6.32). The game starts at 5:00 PM and will be broadcast on radio at Magic 1340 AM, as well as on internet at www.JetHawks.com with the pre-game show starting at 4:45.

The first 750 fans in attendance will receive a free, limited edition baseball card commemorating Aaron Bates record-setting four home performance accomplished May 19, 2007. Bates will also be signing autographs, making for a true JetHawks collectible.

Great tickets for most JetHawks home games are available now. Contact the JetHawks box office by phone at (661) 726-5400 or online at www.JetHawks.com.
