PHILADELPHIA - On behalf of the National Lacrosse League, the Georgia Swarm and Saskatchewan Rush will run a jersey auction on Saturday, April 14th, with all proceeds benefiting the community of Humboldt. Sasktel Centre will also display the names of those on board the Humboldt Broncos bus along the rink boards.
"Last Friday, April 6th, the sports world suffered a tragic loss. We feel for those both lost and injured and give our condolences to the Humboldt Broncos families", said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. "We are so proud of both the Swarm and Rush for taking this step towards healing the greater community of Saskatchewan."
Both teams will showcase the Humboldt Broncos logo on the front of the jersey, along with "Broncos" on the back of the Swarm jerseys, and "Humboldt" on the back of the Rush jersey. Bidding will go live the morning of Saturday, April 14th until Saturday, April 21st at 6pm ET, on the NLL's eBay auction site nll.com/humboldt.
In other efforts to support the cause, the Vancouver Stealth will hold a jersey auction following their Friday night game against the Saskatchewan Rush. All proceeds will be donated to the Humboldt Broncos GoFundMe.
