
Jennie Finch to Appear at Marion Cultural & Civic Center Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thursday, February 28th, the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois will be hosting a special Kick-Off celebration to celebrate the new National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) softball team coming to our region, and will feature Olympic Gold Medalist Jennie Finch as a speaker, referred to by Time Magazine as the most-famous softball player in history.
This Kick-Off celebration will be held at the Marion Cultural & Civic Center at 800 Town Square Plaza in Marion, Illinois at 7:00 pm. Jennie Finch will be available to the media at 6:20 p.m., prior to the start of the event.
Miners COO Mike Pinto and NPF Commissioner Cheri Kempf will be on hand to introduce the Wild, and Jennie Finch will then speak about her playing experiences both in the Olympics and the NPF. A Q&A session will follow with attending fans.
Reservations were required for this event, and a full-to-capacity crowd of more than 1,000 people is expected to attend.
