Jason Boltus Returns to the Storm

"We're excited to have Jason back with the Storm," said Gooch. "He had a great season with us last year and we believe he has the ability to make an impact once he hits the field."

Boltus (6-foot-3, 220 lbs., Hartwick) enters his fifth season in the Arena Football League and second in a Storm uniform. The four-year veteran had a stellar 2015 season for the Storm, setting multiple franchise single-season records. The Baldwinsville, NY native finished his first season with the Storm as the team's single-season leader in pass attempts (714), tied for first in pass completions (408), second in passing yardage (5,025) and passing touchdowns (98).

Boltus began his AFL career in 2012 with the Spokane Shock. He would also spend time with the Utah Blaze (2013) and Orlando Predators (2014). For his career, Boltus has started in 31-of-47 games, and completed 728-of-1,248 pass attempts for 9,191 yards and 185 touchdowns. He began his professional career in the Canadian Football League with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2009.

The team also acquired defensive lineman Padric Scott.

"Padric is a big body that brings veteran experience to the defensive line," said Gooch. "He brings intensity to the field with a never-ending motor. We look forward to seeing him out there on the field."

Scott (6-foot-1, 295 lbs., Florida A&M) enters his first season in a Storm uniform. The Tallahassee native began his AFL career with the Philadelphia Soul in 2014. Over two seasons, Scott started in 12-of-18 games for the Soul and recorded 13.5 tackles, 5.0 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and a blocked kick. He began his professional career with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League in 2013 as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Scott played collegiately at Florida A&M. The former Rattler started in 28-of-38 games and recorded 76.0 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup. His performance during his senior season earned him All-MEAC honors after he finished the year with 26.0 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, a pass breakup and forced fumble.
