Jackfish double trouble for Panthers WELLAND - Ten of Welland's 22 hits Thursday night were doubles and helped the Jackfish pick up a 16-4 win over Kitchener. Sam Cawker had a pair of two-baggers as part of a four-hit game. He drove in four and scored three times. Ethan Hunt went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs, Gianfranco Morello doubled and drove in a pair, James Smibert had two hits, two RBI and a run, Zarley Cina went 2-for-5 and scored twice, Matt Hilderbrandt went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run and Brandon Nicholson had three hits, three runs and two stolen bases, bringing his league-leading total to 25. Jake Harford (6-1) earned the win, allowing four runs on five hits over six innings. He walked three and struck out two. Panthers' starter Jacob Douglas (3-1) was touched for nine runs on 13 hits over four innings. He walked one and struck out one. At the plate, leadoff batter Jett Jarvis went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Blake Jacklin singled twice and drove in a pair and Keegan Marsden had the other RBI. Welland improved to 14-5 and leads London by a game atop the IBL standings. Kitchener fell to 7-11 and sits sixth.
