Vancouver Whitecaps News Release
The Vancouver Whitecaps and Adobe Productions would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the world premier of "IT'S A GREAT GAME" last Monday night at the Vogue Theatre a huge success. The sold-out crowd of more than 1,200 soccer enthusiasts filled the aisles, literally. Fifty per cent of all ticket sales went to raise funds for cancer care and research; as a result $3,000 went directly to the Jack Neil Memorial Fund.
The spectacular evening included special appearances from the film's director, Robbie Hart, Canadian Women's World Cup head coach, Even Pellerud, and Canadian national team members: Andrea Neil, Kara Lang and Randee Hermus.
"The event was a great success, I would like to personally thank everyone for making the evening such a wonderful experience," said Andrea Neil, Vancouver Whitecaps captain and member of the Canadian national team. "The positive atmosphere throughout the theatre is a direct reflection on how much women's soccer has grown in recent years."
A 47-minute television version of "IT'S A GREAT GAME" will also be aired on Global Television on Saturday, February 26th at 7:00 pm.
Fans who are interested in purchasing copies of the full-length version "IT'S A GREAT GAME" can purchase VHS copies in either English or French for $69.00 (Canadian only) plus taxes and a five dollar shipping charge at www.adobeproductions.com.
