The Harrisburg City Islanders preseason camp officially opened the 2010 season on March 15th. Over sixty trialists have reported to In the Net Sports Complex (Palmyra, PA) twice a day for the past nine days. The trialist had an opportunity to showcase their talents to Islanders coaches Bill Becher and Steve Widdowson in a 1-0 win over Saint Francis University (March 17) and a 2-0 win over Bucknell University (March 23).
"We think we have the most competitive camp that we've ever had. Lots of guys looked sharp in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Bucknell. There are lots of quality players here, this will make our selections very difficult," said Coach Bill Becher.
City Islander players already inked to a contract will step onto the game field for the first time this season tonight at 7:00pm against Crystal Palace Baltimore at Millersville University (Lancaster, PA). The City Islanders will also face Penn State University, Towson University, UMBC, and Temple University in preseason games prior to the April 17th season opener in Richmond, Virginia.

PHILADELPHIA UNION SEASON OPENER
Philadelphia Union's first-ever MLS First Kick will take place TONIGHT, Thursday March 25th vs. Seattle Sounders FC at Seattle's Qwest Field. The match will air live on ESPN2.
The club's home opener will be played April 10th vs. DC United at Lincoln Financial Field.
