New Jersey Ironmen News Release

Newark, N.J. (Tuesday, October 21, 2008)- The New Jersey Ironmen are happy to proclaim a partnership with the North Brunswick Soccer Club that will include both recreational and travel team training. As part of the new affiliation, the North Brunswick Soccer Club formally announces Ironmen midfielder Goran Vasic as their Training Consultant.

"The North Brunswick Soccer Club has been very good to me and the New Jersey Ironmen," Vasic stated. "My goal is to make the kids better players, and we can already see improvement from when we started working with them. I'm very excited about the opportunity to help the club, and I hope to continue achieving the same positive feedback that we have been receiving from the coaches, players and parents."

Vasic, a USSF-A licensed coach, was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and moved to the United States in May of 1997. He started his American soccer career with the Houston Hotshots of the Continental Indoor Soccer League and recently completed his 11th season in professional indoor soccer. Vasic, member of two indoor league championship teams, played for the Cleveland Crunch during 1998-2001 before playing for the Philadelphia KiXX from 2001-06. After a year with the Milwaukee Wave, he made the move to Newark by signing with the Ironmen prior to the 2007-08 season. For his indoor career, he has tallied 584 points to go along with 223 assists and 154 blocks.

The healthy relationship between the Ironmen and the North Brunswick Soccer Club has been established on the Ironmen side from Head Coach Omid Namazi and Vasic, and on the club front from Technical Director Oscar Robayo, President Carlo Dilalla and Liz Onorati, Vice President of the Travel Soccer League. The club hosted an Ironmen soccer camp over the summer and has also provided a platform for training sessions that have been conducted by Ironmen coaches and players. The club has fields in seven locations and is known for having great soccer facilities for coaching and training.
