Indoor Veteran to Lead UIF Officials

United Indoor Football has taken another step toward securing itself as a premier league, selecting Dana Nelson as the head of officials for the league's inaugural season in 2005. Nelson will lead the league's efforts to secure officiating crews and oversee all game-day officials and rules.

Nelson joins UIF with 31 years of high school football officiating experience and has officiated numerous high school playoff and championship games over his extensive career. The Yankton, South Dakota, native has also officiated four college conferences and has served as an official in professional indoor football for five years, three of which, he served as director of officials.

In addition to officiating, Nelson has served in numerous government positions. He also received his masters degree from the University of South Dakota in 1984.
