Indiana Ice Miners Remain MAHL's only Undefeated Team

(Canton, Ohio) As the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League begins its third week of action, just one team, the Indiana Ice Miners, remains undefeated. The Ice Miners, posting a perfect 3-0-0 record, return to action Friday night (11/16) with a home game against the Valley Forge Freedom. MAHL action resumes on Wednesday night (11/14) with the Wooster Warriors hosting Valley Forge in the first of six games this week.
MAHL "Player of the Week"
Forward Russell Spence of the Indiana Ice Miners is the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League Player of the Week. Against the Wooster Warriors on November 10th, the 6'-3", 220 lbs. native of Portage LaPrairie, Manitoba scored four goals and added an assist as the Ice Miners defeated Wooster 7-5. Spence is a former 9th round draft choice of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played last year in Germany.
MAHL "Goaltender of the Week"
The Wooster Warriors Joe Dovalina has been chosen the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League Goaltender of the Week. The 5'-10', 184 lbs. native of Chicago, Illinois went 1-1 last week for Wooster; stopping 41 of 44 shots in a 4-3 victory against Jamestown on November 9th. The next night against first place Indiana, Dovalina faced another 40 shots. This is his first professional season having previously played four years at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin.
