Indiana Ice Miners Back in First Following Perfect 3-0-0 Week
December 3, 2007 - Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL) News Release
(Canton, Ohio) It's week six in the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League and with 20% of the 2007-08 league schedule having been played, the Indiana Ice Miners have returned to the top of the MAHL standings following a perfect 3-0-0 week. The Wooster Warriors won only one of three games to fall three points behind the Ice Miners. Jamestown's Vikings also went 1-2 and are in third place while the Mon Valley Thunder (1-0-0) and Valley Forge Freedom (0-2-0) are tied for fourth place. Due to limited building availability, only four games are on the schedule for this coming week.
MAHL "Player of the Week"
Indiana Ice Miners forward Justin Todd is the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League Player of the Week. The twenty-four year old Todd scored five goals and added four assists for nine points last week. Justin, 5'-10", 185lbs, scored a hat trick and the game winning goal against Jamestown on 11/29.
MAHL "Goaltender of the Week"
Nick Niedert of the Indiana Ice Miners has been chosen the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League Goaltender of the Week. The Hudson, Iowa native registered the first shutout in MAHL history when he blanked Jamestown on 11/29, stopping all 28 shots that he faced. Three days later, Nick earned his second win of the week, stopping 42 of 46 shots against Valley Forge on 12/2. Niedert, 25, played last season for Huntsville in the SPHL.
