
IHL Weekly Honors Announced For Week Twenty-Four

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Muskegon forward John DiPace has been named the Pepsi IHL Player of the Week, Bloomington forward Bill Bagron has been named the Aquafina IHL Rookie of the Week and Fort Wayne goaltender Nick Boucher has been named the Southern Sports Supply IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 29th, 2009.
DiPace completed the week scoring four goals and dishing out four assists for eight points in four games played by the Lumberjacks last week. He notched in points in all four games, finishing the week with a plus-6 rating. DiPace scored his third shorthanded goal of the season Friday vs. Kalamazoo, which ties him for second in the IHL in that category. The 26-year-old Clinton Township, Michigan native is currently riding a three-game goal streak (4 goals) and a five-game point streak (4 goals, 5 assists). Since joining the Lumberjacks via trade, DiPace has scored 11 goals and 13 assists (24 points) going plus-13 over 19 games in Muskegon.
Other players nominated for the Pepsi IHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington center Jon Booras, Flint center Greg Bullock, Fort Wayne left wing P.C. Drouin, Kalamazoo center Glenn Detulleo and Port Huron left wing Steve Rymsha.
Bagron finished Week 24 of his rookie season notching in three goals and had one assist, going plus-2 for the week. The rookie forward scored his first hat trick of his professional career Sunday, scoring three even-strength goals in the PrairieThunder's 7-6 shootout loss to Muskegon. The 26-year-old Eagle River, Alaska native has registered 21 points (12g, 9a) and has gone plus-9 since joining the PrairieThunder after being traded from Muskegon back in January.
Other players nominated for the Aquafina IHL Rookie of the Week include: Flint forward Maxime Lincourt, Fort Wayne right wing Sean O'Connor, Kalamazoo forward Rick Cleaver, Muskegon left wing Anton Kharin and Port Huron defenseman Derek Merlini.
Boucher remains on fire for the Komets, registering another undefeated week between the pipes. He registered a 4-0-0-0 record, giving up just three goals against in four appearances. He had a 0.88 goals against average and a .966 save percentage for the week while earning another shutout. Boucher turned aside all 30 shots he faced from Flint in the 2-0 win over the Generals Friday night. The 28-year-old Cobble Hill, British Columbia native is currently unbeaten in 11 straight contests, holding a five-game winning streak on the road and a four-game win streak on home ice. Boucher set a career high in wins with 28, which also leads the IHL.
Other players nominated for the Southern Sports Supply IHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Jason Wolfe, Flint's Chad Alban, Kalamazoo's Jason Tapp, Muskegon's Clayton Pool and Port Huron's Ryan Mior.
