IFL All-Star Team selected

Corpus Christi, TX: For the third straight season, the teams of the Intense Football League will be holding an All-Star event, this season, hosted by the Louisiana Swashbucklers in Lake Charles. As in previous seasons, the host team will take on one All-Star team comprised of the best that the league has to offer including several coaches from the IFL. The weekend will include a formal Skills Competition which will double as a player combine for AFL and NFL scouts on Friday night, August 18th. An IFL awards banquet will follow that night leading into Saturday, August 20th when a formal press conference and media luncheon will take place mid-day prior to the actual All-Star game at 7:00 PM. Team owners and marketing executives will be meeting each morning of the three day weekend as well with topics such as season re-caps, areas for improvement, and expansion being major topics. "We are so pleased to be hosting such a special weekend full of great events all leading up to the pinnacle of the season, the 2006 IFL All-Star game," stated Swashbucklers team owner Thom Hager, "The event is sure to entertain fans while building life-long memories for these players." In an interesting twist, two lucky fans will have an opportunity to actually play in the game, one on each team. This opportunity is available only by bid on e-bay beginning July 31st.

Each IFL team submitted a list of top players to the Swashbucklers who then hosted a conference call with all team owners to narrow down this All-Star team to just the 24 players as listed below. The Swashbucklers and the IFL are please to announce and congratulate the 2006 IFL All-Star team:
