Ice Girl tryouts Saturday

Not only will fans be able to get a sneak preview of the Tulsa Oilers Ice Girls for the upcoming Central Hockey League season on Saturday, they will also be able to visit with new coach Bruce Ramsay and a couple of the Oilers players.

Woodland Hills Mall will host the Oilers on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. During that time the Ice Girls will be holding open auditions, with the public tryout set to begin at 5 p.m. Starting at noon, women 18 and older can stop by the Oilers booth located on the lower level in front of Dillard's to fill out an application and have their preliminary interview. Call backs begin at 3 p.m. and then selected participants will be taught a brief dance routine, which they will then perform for the public beginning at 5 p.m. For more information on becoming a Tulsa Oilers Ice girl, interested women should email icegirls@tulsaoilers.com. Throughout the day fans can visit with Oilers players, get information for the upcoming season, and register to win prizes. At noon, right winger Mike Beausoleil will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures. At 1:30 p.m., fans can visit with new Oiler Tyler Butler. Then at 4:30, Ramsay will be available to discuss the off season recruiting with fans, and also watch the public audition for the ice girls.

The Oilers start the CHL regular season on Friday October 16th at Mississippi. The home opener for the Oilers in their 18th CHL season will be Saturday October 24th at 7:35 against the Wichita Thunder. Season tickets for the Oilers 2009-10 season in the BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
