IBL's Battle Creek Knights name two more players; team will play versus the USA All Stars this weekend in Illinois
Ryan Scott-is a 6' 3" guard from Johnson Smith University; his dad is former NBA sharpshooter Dennis Scott of the Orlando Magic. An article on Scott can be found at- http://goldenbullsports.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/061109aaa.html
Ljubisa Vrcelj-was born December 23rd 1984 in Benkovac, Yugoslavia; Vrcelj is a 6' 11" Center who played his college basketball at Jacksonville State. His outlook as described by Eurobasket as follows: Ljubisa has Canadian, Croatian & Serbian Passports and is therefore BOSMAN "B". He has good size and strength. Has good hands and moves well for a big man. He uses his size and strength to his advantage and is a good shot blocker. Ljubisa can play well with his back to the basket and he possesses a variety of low post moves. This summer Ljubisa has been working tirelessly on improving his overall game and he put extra effort into improving his 3 point shooting. His hard work is paying off. He is now making 3-pointers with great consistency and accuracy. This is something that is really going to benefit any team that signs Ljubisa because he is a big man that can stretch the defense which is always a major benefit to all of the other players on the team. Beside the soft outside touch Ljubisa also possesses great passing ability and a great understanding of the game. Ljubisa has a positive attitude and a strong desire to improve.
Battle Creek Knights Head Coach Terrance Dickens will look at more talent for the Battle Creek Knights- this weekend at tryouts held in Kankakee Illinois. The USA All Stars is a team of ten collegiate level or professional level tryout players trying to show their skill in a weekend of basketball against IBL teams- games that count. IBL teams typically win but USA All Stars have been known to pull off upsets and this tryout group of players might be the group to pull off the upset. Early reports on the 30 tryout players registered (playing tomorrow as the USA All Stars (10 guys per team) is that there are upwards of 6 to 8 professional level players in this tryout camp, according to resume and known sources. This camp includes players such as- Quinnel Brown- a 6' 6" 2008 IBL All Star for the Gary Steelheads. Also at the camp are a few NBDL experienced players and All Star players from other minor leagues. And the camp is not missing height-this camp has two players 6' 10" and a few 6' 8" players. Dickens believes that this USA All Star weekend (tryout weekend) is one of the best he has seen since 2008 when 13 players made IBL teams from 44 players in attendance (t a tryout in Gary Indiana). These IBL tryout players-playing as the USA All Stars- will play games against the Holland Blast, the early edition of the Battle Creek Knights and the last game of the day will be against the home town Kankakee County Soldiers; those April 3rd games will be played at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm at the Hidden Cove Sports Complex in Kankakee, Illinois on April 3rd. Games on the second day-Sunday April 4th-will occur at 1pm (USA All Stars versus Battle Creek Knights), 3pm (USA All Stars versus the Holland Blast) and 5pm (USA All Stars versus Kankakee County Soldiers). Coaching the tryout players (restated- tryout players- playing as the USA All Stars) are veteran trainer and coach Ken Hasty, coach and agent Tytus Cousins and veteran assistant coach Mark Hartung.
