IBL's 9th Season Tips off April 19th

Tipping off the season in Bellingham on April 19 are the 2012 IBL Champion Bellingham Slam versus the 2011 Champion Vancouver Volcanoes, who have never won on the Slam's home court of Whatcom Pavilion. "We're excited to get the 2013 season underway, and there is no better way to do it than against another great organization like the Volcanoes," said Slam Head Coach Rob Ridnour. The Slam have won a title twice in the IBL, the Volcanoes only once. "It's always good to play the defending champion early in the season, just to get a gauge on where our team is. Coach Ridnour always does such a great job with their execution, it will be a good test for our defense," Head Coach Joe Navarro of the Volcanoes stated.
Volcanoes FAN FEST NIGHT!
The first home game of the Volcanoes season is Free to the public this Sunday, April 21 st at 5:00 pm in the O'Connell Sports Complex at the Clark College campus in Vancouver, WA and is featured as a "Fan Fest" for the community, with entry to this game FREE. Meet the Volcanoes Dancers, shoot around with players, meet and greet the new members of the team as they look to make a run for the ring this season. Champions in 2011 the Volcanoes have added some very notable players to their roster this season including 2012 IBL Rookie of the Year and All Star 6'5" Chehales Tapscott and 2012 IBL Champion, Most Improved Player and All Star 6'4" Paul Hafford with BIG MAN 2012 IBL All Star Gjio Bain . Get autographs from some of your favorite Volcanoes players including 2012 IBL Most Valuable Player and All Star 6'2" Andre Murray . Returnees from the 2011 IBL Championship roster, out of retirement, 6'8" NBA product from the San Antonio Spurs, Jake Carlisle and off the bench back to the court, 6'5" Kevin "ÃËPip' Bloodsaw . Join Cano the Volcanoes mascot, get your face painted, participate in contests try the new menu items at the concession from nachos to Pita Pit pitas and get your Volcanoes merchandise!
