IBA playoffs Albany Update

Gary, Ind.--- The third-seeded Albany Legends took their first step towards an IBA Championship this afternoon in Gary, Indiana, knocking off the sixth-seeded Lansing Capitals 135 to 105. Albany , now 11-5 on the season, stamps their ticket to the Semi-Finals with the victory and will play the winner of the Kankakee County and Lake County game that is to be played later this evening.

The Legends were led by a balanced scoring offense as 5 legends scored in double figures in the game. Lloyd Johnson led all Albany scorers with 33 points, while Kyle Downey and Shea Bromirski both put in over 20 point performances with 24, and 20 points respectively. Rounding out the Legends scoring were Adam Abdourahamane with 18 points while EJ Gallup chipped in with 16.

Lansing would be led by Terrence Shaw's 33 point performance, while David Williams put up 19 points in the season ending loss. The Capitals end their season at 8-8.

Albany will be back on the court tomorrow for a semi-final match up that will be played at the Genesis Convention Center in Gary, Indiana, tip-off time is scheduled for 9 pm (CDT). A live radio web-cast will be available on www.ibaball.net/nyalbanylegends.
