Huntington, WV. - The American Indoor Football League Northern Conference offensive player of the week for week seven is Huntington's QB Fred Ray. Ray threw for three touchdowns and ran for three more as Huntington knocked Erie from the ranks of the undefeated with a 55-33 road victory. Ray completed 17 of 31 passes for 139 yards. Former Marshall Receiver Brad Bates had 5 catches for 55 yards and 1 touchdown.
The Heroes return to action Saturday against the 4 "" 2 Reading Express. Game time at the Veterans Memorial Field House is 7PM with tailgate lots opening at 4PM.
Tickets will be on sale in the field house box office after 2PM. The box office is located on the corner of 26th Street and 5th Avenue.
AIFL Northern Conference Players of the Week for Week 7
DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS: Armar Watson, Reading Express. Matched the league record with four interceptions, returning one as the Express downed Johnstown 47-22. He also had three kickoff returns for 95 yards and a score.
LINEMAN: Matt Spack, Syracuse Soldiers. Keyed the Soldiers' effort up front as Syracuse won its first game of the season with a 43-31 decision against the Steubenville Stampede.
AIFL Southern Conference Players Of The Week For Week 7
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The American Indoor Football League Southern Conference players of the week for week seven are as follows.
OFFENSE: Marcus Brady, Rome Renegades. He was 21 of 27 for 314 yards with eight passing touchdowns and rushed for two scores as the Renegades downed the Chattahoochee Valley Vipers 76-31.
DEFENSE: Lawrence Lewis, Richmond Bandits. As the Bandits matched the league records for fewest points allowed, Lewis registered 7.5 tackles in a 59-6 rout of Augusta.
LINEMAN: Aaron Meredith, Florence Phantoms. Gave David Corley ample time to throw as Florence had its best offensive output of the season in a 54-30 decision over the Raleigh Rebels.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Rafael Cooper, Florence Phantoms. Had two returns for 74 yards in the Phantoms' first victory, a 54-30 decision over the Raleigh Rebels.
