
Hippeard and Harrell Honored by AFL

TAMPA BAY - Storm quarterback Randy Hippeard and defensive back James Harrell were honored for their performance in a 56-35 win over the Jacksonville Sharks this past Saturday night. The Arena Football League announced that Hippeard was named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week and Harrell was named the J. Lewis Small Playmaker of The Week.
Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week: Hippeard (6-foot-3, 205 lbs., UVA-Wise) returned from injury this past Saturday and led the Storm to a 56-35 victory over the Jacksonville Sharks. The win snapped a season-high five-game losing streak for the team. Hippeard finished the night having completed 21-of-29 passes for 255 yards and six touchdowns. His 72.4% completion percentage was a career high.
J. Lewis Small Playmaker of The Week: Harrell (5-foot-10, 195 lbs., Arkansas-Pine Bluff) made plays on both defense and special teams this past weekend. The Tampa native finished the night with 6.5 tackles, a fumble return, an interception and four pass breakups. He would also have an impact on special teams with a net recovery for a touchdown with no time left on the clock in the second quarter. His interception was the first of the season, and he led all defensemen with four pass breakups.
