RICHMOND, VA—Mike Hessman doubled and homered, driving in four runs to help lead the Richmond Braves to a 7-1 victory over the Ottawa Lynx Wednesday afternoon.

Hessman's two-run homer in the first inning off Eric DuBose (4-2) got Richmond off to an early lead. The game would remain at 2-0 until the fifth when the Braves added a pair of runs on a Mike Hubbard double and Jesse Garcia single. After Ottawa cut the lead to 4-1 in the sixth on a Pedro Swann single, Richmond answered with a Travis Wilson RBI in the bottom half of the inning. Hessman capped the Braves' attack with a two-run double in the seventh.

Ryan Glynn (3-3) won his second consecutive start by holding the Lynx to one run on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings.

Brian Roberts paced the Ottawa offense with two hits.

The Braves and Lynx meet again Thursday at 7:00 p.m. with the radio broadcast beginning at 6:45 p.m.
