Heroes Sign/Re-sign Players

September 12, 2006 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA)
Huntington Heroes News Release

The Huntington Heroes have signed 10 players for the upcoming 2007 in door football season.

Head Coach Gary McPeek said of the early signings," I feel like we have re-signed some excellent players from last year's team, while also addressing some needs. We are just beginning the recruiting process and will look the country over for the best players; however we feel that we have some great players here in the city of Huntington from Marshall University. Marshall players were the nucleus of our team last year and I look forward to that trend to continue."

The Heroes will hold an open tryout at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington on October 15. Cost is $50 and includes a tryout T-shirt. Players will be tested in the following: Vertical, 40, Pro Shuttle and individual position drills. Kickers register at 8:00 AM, Linemen at 9:00 AM and Skill players at 10:30 AM. Interested players may call Coach Garry McPeek at 304 751 6601.

Heroes 2007 Ticket information will be released later this week. The Heroes will play 14 games in the AIFL starting the first week of February with 7 home games being played at The Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
