
Heat Infielder and Potters Pitcher Honored

Portland, Oregon - The Great West League's Madison Bat Company Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, as announced by GWL commissioner Ken Wilson, are Alex Crouch and James Nabers.
Crouch, a left-handed hitting infielder with the Chico Heat, went 11-27 with 2 HRs, 11 RBIs, 6 walks and 2 sacrifice flies for the league leaders. The 6-0, 180 pound Sacramento, California native, is hitting .278 this season with 2 HRs and 30 RBIs, after batting .213 in 40 games during his freshman season at Cosumnes River College.
Nabers, a left-hander with the Lincoln Potters, twirled a great game July 10 at Klamath Falls, going 7 innings, allowing one run on two hits, while fanning seven and not giving up a walk. The El Dorado Hills, California native has pitched in 4 games this season for the Potters, allowing only 4 hits over 13 innings, while walking one and striking out 13. Nabers will be a freshman this fall at Sierra College.
