Hawg Game Day Updates
April 17, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Daytona Beach Hawgs News Release
SHAKEN AND STIRRED: Pressed into service after starter kicker Jeff Bacigalupi was injured, Kissimmee Kreature wide receiver James Panui nailed a 38-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Kreatures to a stunning 51-48 victory over the previously undefeaten Miami Morays Saturday night in the National Indoor Football League's biggest upset of the season. That game adds significant import to tonight's Lakeland-Daytona Beach tilt: The Hawgs can move into a first-place tie with the Morays with a victory.
ROSTER MOVES: After a one-game absence, Marcus Washington was reactivated for tonight's game and Kenny Llewellyn deactivated. With Nick Allision, Jamaal Argrow and Jon Xynidis still out, Jarraud Bell, Sam Smalls and Rodney Wilson stay active for another week.
LOOK AT LEE: With Montgomery's Chrys Chukwuma having the week off, Hawg RB Brad Lee can take over the league rushing lead with 41 yards against Lakeland. Chukwuma currently holds a 393-353 lead entering Monday night.
IN THE HOUSE: Expected to attend Monday's game: Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis, who has the Thunderbolts field named after him, and Orlando Predators Head Coach Jay Gruden.
NEW LOOK: The Hawgs will debut their orange pants Monday.
HALFTIME HIGHLIGHT: The Hawgs' field will be dedicated the TUI Business Machines Field at halftime.
