Thanks to a tight defensive effort and a fine outing from goalkeeper Sam Bishop, the Harrisburg City Islanders (0-3-2, 2 points) earned a hard-fought point with a scoreless tie against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Saturday night at Skyline Sports Complex.

Bishop made four saves, all in the first half, to record his first pro clean sheet. The second-year man out of Lehigh benefited from a nice team defensive performance, with the backline quartet of Ryan O'Neill, Dustin Bixler, J.T. Dorsey, and John Lapore leading the way in shutting down a capable Pittsburgh attack.

Rookie midfielder Justin Sadler (Cumberland Valley High School) made his regular season debut for Harrisburg, replacing David McClellan for the final 31 minutes. Carlos Morales, another rookie midfielder, also took the field for the first time. Francesco Caruso (Lancaster Catholic High) made his first Skyline appearance.
