January 2, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Atlanta, GA. The ABA Georgia Gwizzlies will host its Annual MLK Day game against cross town rival, the Atlanta Vision at 4:05pm on January 19th. Several local organizations including the Hosea Williams' Feed the People have been contacted to participate and local Atlanta recording artists are scheduled to perform for the benefit game to be held at a historical black college in Atlanta.
"We think this is going to be a great event, the Vision is putting together a very good team and we are improving much ourselves," stated Embry Malone, team owner. "And the entertainment will just add to the excitement. The kids will love it."
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
