Guelph Nighthawks News Release
GUELPH, ON - Ahmed Hill joins the Guelph Nighthawks after two seasons of playing in the NBA G-League. A shooting guard with five years of college experience, as well as two seasons in the NBA G League, his elite shooting and defensive prowess will be a huge addition to the roster this upcoming season.
Hill played basketball for Aquinas High School in Georgia, and chose to follow coach Buzz Williams to Virginia Tech. He redshirted his sophomore season due to an offseason injury, and returned the following year as a consistent starter for the remaining three seasons. In Hill's senior year, he averaged 13 points and 4 rebounds per game.
After leaving Virginia Tech, Hill played in the 2019 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Though he was not selected in the 2019 NBA Draft, he signed a contract with the Northern Arizona Suns in the NBA G-League, where he started 25 games and averaged almost ten points per game. In 2020, Hill signed with the Greensboro Swarm, the G-League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets.

The CEBL led the NHL, NBA and later the CPL in returning to play in Canada after the coronavirus shut down the sports world in March of 2020. The CEBL Summer Series put professional basketball on the television and digital screens of millions of viewers across Canada and around the world, establishing the league as the top Canadian-based global team sports brand. The 2021 season set to start on June 5, will build on that momentum with an expanded viewing audience around the world, and locally through an innovative approach to addressing the uncertainties due to the pandemic around having fans in arenas across the league.
