Guelph Nighthawks News Release

Marcus Anderson returns to the Nighthawks following his impeccable debut during the 2020 CEBL Summer Series. The 6-foot-3 guard was selected third overall by the Nighthawks in the 2020 CEBL - U SPORTS Draft after his five-year career at Carleton University.

In his freshman year at Carleton, Anderson was selected to the OUA All-Rookie Team. The Brampton native soon became the one to watch on defense as he was named the U SPORTS Defensive Player of the Year and OUA Defensive Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons (2017-18, 2018-19). During his five years as a Carleton Raven, Anderson and his team were crowned U SPORTS National Champions in four of his five seasons.

The 24-year-old made his CEBL debut in the 2020 Summer Series representing Nighthawks Nation, playing in all seven games, averaging nearly three points, three assists, and three rebounds per game. Anderson was runner-up CEBL Defensive Player of the Year following the conclusion of the Summer Series.
