
GLIFL Week Eight in Review â Battle Creek 59, Lehigh Valley 53

Over 3,100 fans witnessed the Battle Creek Crunch win their second game of the season in exciting fashion, with a 59-53 win in Lehigh Valley that was down to the wire. With under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, Lehigh Valley had the ball on their five yard line, down 52-46. Lehigh Valley hadn't led in the game since 9-8 in the first quarter. Four plays into the drive, Chad Schwenk threw his only interception of the night, one that first-time defender Herb Haygood returned all the way for a Battle Creek touchdown, sealing the game. Schwenk threw three touchdowns in the game, while Crunch QB Tim Kubiak had his best game with the Crunch with three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown with no turnovers. Lehigh Valley hosts Rochester in Week Nine, while the Crunch go back home to face NY/NJ.
