Milwaukee Wave forward Giuliano Oliviero recorded two goals and two assists for six points in the Wave's 10-6 victory at Baltimore Saturday night. Oliviero opened with a penalty kick then assisted on the Wave's second goal to put the Wave up 4-2. That assist gave the 15-year veteran 1,000 regular-season points for his career, a milestone reached by less than two dozen indoor soccer players. Oliviero later extended the Wave's lead to 8-2 and ended the game with the assist on JP Rodrigues' victory-clinching goal in the fourth quarter. Oliviero began his career with the Wave in 1995-96 and returned to Milwaukee in the 2003-04 season. He ranks fifth all-time on the Wave's point scoring list with career 415 points. For the season Oliviero has 29 points and ranks third in the MISL.
About the Major Indoor Soccer League The MISL represents the major league of professional indoor soccer, featuring the finest indoor soccer players from around the world. The league consists of five member clubs in 2009-10: the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Milwaukee Wave. The regular season will run for 18 weeks and will conclude on Sunday, March 21. The postseason is set to start the following weekend with the top three teams qualifying. The second- and third-place teams will square-off in a home-and-home Semifinal series with the winner advancing to battle the top seed.
