Georgia Gwizzlies Native American Player
July 23, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Macon, GA. The ABA Macon-based Georgia Gwizzlies today signed 23 year old Ralph Hishaw, a 6'7, 220 forward, as the team works to build a team with unusual diversity, having previously signed an Iranian and Nigerian. "We think Ralph, a Native American player of extraordinary talent," can do some amazing things - he's almost like a "point-forward playing the white square on the backboard," said Embry Malone, team owner. "We compare him to Jamerio Moon, now with the Toronto Raptors, and think the fans will be very excited to see him in action." Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
