The Woodlands, TX - The Woodlands Strykers earned their first victory of the season after defeating the Victoria Generals 8-0 out on the road.

The Stykers took charge of the game in the second inning earning them a 2-0 lead. The Strykers tacked on six more runs in the top half of the final frame.

Nolan Holland's performance on the mound was dominating. Holland pitched seven complete innings in the victory, allowing zero runs on two hits and three strikeouts. J.T. Jakubik pitched the final two innings with giving up only one hit and striking out three batters.

"Well pitched game by Nolan Holland allowed us to stay in the game till the 9th when our bats could get going. It's always a relief to get the 1st win and hopefully we can build on that. We have been well over the last couple of games, it was nice to see it payoff and result in us winning a ball game. Definitely something to build on," says Coach Dillard.

The Strykers will be back in action Wednesday, June 15th, as they square off against the Victoria Generals in game two of their match-up.
