Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, host the Utah Grizzlies tonight at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center.

The Americans return home after a five-game road swing that saw them finish 2-2-0-1, with a 3-1 victory in Jacksonville to close out the trip last Sunday. After opening the trip with a 5-3 victory over the Tulsa Oilers, the club lost three in a row before the win against Jacksonville.

"We have to be better," said Americans Captain Joel Chouinard. "Nobody in our room feels good about our recent stretch and it's up to us as a group to fix things. When we play our game, we're tough to beat. It's been the inconsistency that's frustrating. No excuses, we just need to play better as a unit."

The Americans lost forward Zach Hall in their last game in Jacksonville. He is expected to be out of the lineup for awhile with an upper-body injury. Hall has only played in 23 games this season and has just seven points (2 goals & 5 assists). Americans defenseman David Makowski is just one assist away from 100 for his professional career, he has 99. Makowski leads all D-men with 17 power play assists.

The Americans open a weekend set tonight against Mountain Division for Utah, a team that has made several changes over the last few days including adding two familiar names. Joel Rumpel, was acquired from Wichita last week for forward Jon Puskar. The club also added forward Jake Marchment, who was assigned to Utah by San Antonio, of the American Hockey League. In 49 games this season, Marchment has 8 goals and 23 assists for 31 points. Utah is 3-6-0-1 in their last 10 games.

The Allen Americans will giveaway youth jerseys to the first 1,000 kids 12 and under this Saturday night courtesy of Globe Life, when the Americans host the Rapid City Rush. Get here early!! Doors open at 6:05 pm.
