Gainesville Galaxy News Release
Opening at home this past Friday night, the Tampa Bay Saints played their very first official game for the CBL as they hosted the Gainesville Galaxy.
The Saints got off to a quick start led by the strong backcourt combo of guards Chris Jean-Louis and Chris Holton.
Although the Saints fought hard in the first half and tried their best to keep up with the bigger Galaxy team, they found themselves down by 10 points at halftime, trailing 67-57.
The lack of experience showed and the Galaxy took full advantage led by the dominant play of an inside game Gerard Jackson who had 32 points and grabbed 25 rebounds.
The Galaxy had 6 other players score in double figures, 3 of them scoring in the 20's. Cori Gaither 27 points, Jerrell Hopkins 25 points, and Corey Williams 22 points. The Saints, led by high scoring guard Chris Jean-Louis, who had 38 points, and forward Markale Ball who chipped in with 23 points. The final score 150-121!
