Fury Suffer Major Setback; Lose Robert Gordon for 8 Weeks
May 12, 2002 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Detroit Fury News Release
AUBURN HILLS, MICH.- In last night's game in Buffalo, the Detroit Fury suffered a severe blow, as offensive specialist Robert Gordon fractured his right humerus that will sideline him for at least the next eight weeks. Gordon broke his arm in the final minute of the game.
"It is very doubtful that Robert will play the remainder of the year," Head Coach Mouse Davis said. "Since he scored every point in the game, except for one PAT, obviously we will miss him. On the positive side, reports show every indication that there will be a full recovery."
No plans have been announced at finding a replacement at the offensive specialist position, whether it is from within the team or looking outside the club.
The Fury will return to the friendly confines of the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 PM when they host the Indiana Firebirds. Tickets are available by calling (248) 377-0100 or by logging onto www.detroitfury.com.
