AUBURN HILLS, MICH. - The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League announced today the hiring of Jason Miller as the club's communications manager. Miller will replace Chuck King, who was promoted within the organization, as the Fury's primary media relations contact.
Miller comes to Detroit from Arizona, where he spent the 2002 AFL season with the Arizona Rattlers. Prior to joining the Rattlers in 2002, Miller spent six months as an intern with Martz Public Relations in Scottsdale, Ariz. He graduated with honors from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.
Miller will oversee the team's internal and external communications efforts. He will serve as the Fury's intermediary between the local and national media and Fury players and coaches.
In addition, Miller will produce all team publications and develop and implement strategies to maximize the Fury's presence in the community. He will also become actively involved in the team's website.
The Fury will begin their run for ArenaBowl XVII, when the new AFL season kicks off on NBC on February 2, 2003. Season tickets for the Fury can be purchased for the up-coming season by calling (248) 377-0100, and additional information can be found at www.detroitfury.com.
