No matter where Forward Madison goes, its fans will always be there thanks to a new away jersey that features every season ticket holder's name. The jersey, which was designed by Forward's supporters group, The Flock, was revealed during a live video stream Saturday.
Speaking to The Athletic, Forward Madison COO Conor Caloia said the new jersey represents a first in U.S. soccer.
"As far as we can tell, we don't think any American pro team has given a jersey essentially away to their supporters group," said Caloia. "We really wanted to engage our supporters, and we thought we'd let them own our road jersey, so they could always be with us when we're on the road. From there it kind of snowballed."
The jersey itself features a set of striped pink sashes, with fans' names embedded in the white space in between. The sleeves are solid pink, while The Flock's logo is printed inside the collar alongside the words "Forward Forever."
All of Forward Madison's jerseys feature the logo of Dairyland Insurance on the front, part of a multiyear partnership that began last year. Starting this season, one sleeve will also feature the logo of Just Coffee.
