March 13, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Texas Tornado News Release

The Texas Tornado, in conjunction with the Dallas Stars Alumni Association, are happy to announce that former NHLer and current Stars assistant coach Stu Barnes has joined the roster of former professional hockey players playing against the Texas Tornado on March 18th at 5:00 p.m. Barnes' distinguished 16-year NHL career finished in Dallas, where he played with the Stars from 2002-2008. He was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets with the fourth overall pick of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, playing with Winnipeg, Florida and Buffalo before coming to the Stars. Barnes was also a member of the Sabres team that lost to the Stars in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals.

Barnes joins a roster of Ed Belfour, Joe Nieuwendyk, Jere Lehtinen, and a host of other former pros who will take the ice this Sunday. Three of those players will be available for autographs prior to the game. In addition to Lehtinen, Bob Bassen and Landon Wilson will be signing for the public strictly from 3:00-3:30 p.m. The players will head back to the dressing room at precisely 3:30, so make sure you're in line at Dr Pepper Arena early to get your autographs!

A portion of the ticket proceeds from Sunday's event will be donated to the Dallas Stars Alumni Association, as will the proceeds from a jersey auction following the game. Each player on the pro roster's jersey will be available for bidding while the player will also pose for a picture with the winning bidder. Other promotions include an opportunity to spend a Stars game with Mike Modano in the Dallas Stars Alumni Suite at American Airlines Center.
