Former Owls QB Donald Hollas to host final Katy Ruff Riders open player tryout at Rice Stadium

KATY, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders announced today that their final open tryout will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Rice Stadium on the campus of Rice University, where Ruff Riders Head Coach Donald Hollas starred as a collegiate quarterback.
Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the tryout will begin at 10:00 am. The registration form is available for download at http://www.katyruffriders.com/tryouts.html or can be filled out by prospective players the day of the tryout. The Ruff Riders are looking for players of all positions and each athlete will be required to participate in offensive and defensive drills. The format of the tryout will be a pro-style combine, with select players invited to stay for position drills. Hollas and his coaching staff will be on hand to evaluate all players.
All participants will be required to sign a waiver and pay a $50.00 cash only registration fee. Players should dress in workout gear and have the appropriate shoes. Pads will NOT be worn. Players should arrive one hour early to register.
The Katy Ruff Riders play the indoor professional football game (eight (8) players on each team playing on a field 50 yards long by 28 yards wide), and our rules are similar to the Arena Football League. Training camp opens April 1, and the Ruff Riders open the season on Saturday, April 14 vs. Corpus Christi at 7:05 pm. All games can be heard on ESPN Radio 97.5 FM The Ticket, and all home games will be televised on Channel 55 KTBU in Houston.
