Former 'Birds back in Memphis for Cardinals Caravan

Memphis, Tenn. - AutoZone Park will host the annual Cardinals Caravan on Monday, January 19 on the Cellular South Club Level Lounge.

The Cardinals Caravan program will begin at noon with former Redbirds Joe Mather, Jason Motte and Brian Barton along with prospect Brett Wallace. Former Cardinals Kerry Robinson and Tom Lawless will also join the Caravan along with Cards announcer Dan McLaughlin. Mather, Motte and Barton all made their major league debuts last season while also spending time in Memphis. Wallace was the Cardinals first round pick in last summer's draft and finished the season with Double-A Springfield.

Robinson played for the Redbirds in 2001 and split 2003 between Memphis and St. Louis. Lawless spent four seasons with the Cardinals from 1985-88. The players will discuss the past and upcoming season before a question and answer session. The program will conclude with the players signing autographs and door prizes being given away. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The Redbirds begin their 10th season in AutoZone Park in 2009 with a pair of exhibition games against the Cardinals on April 3 and 4.
