Force Week Two

June 3, 2008 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF)
Philadelphia Force News Release

Hey Fans! It was a very exciting weekend in Allentown for the Force as we welcomed the Netherlands National Team. The team, who is touring in the United States for a month, made a stop in Allentown to play the Force in a four-game series. The Force played great, and ended up winning all four games and sweeping the Olympic contender! Everyone here is very excited about the great start to the season and expect more great play and big wins in the upcoming weeks.

This week, the Force opens their NPF schedule when they play the New England Riptide. Now Fans, New England is a HUGE rival for the Force and we would love if everyone would come out and support the team during this week's big games. The series starts on Wednesday, June 4 and continues until June 7. All games this week will be played at 7:05 pm.

If you make it to the games this week, not only will you have the opportunity to see a lot of great softball, but you can also take part in many exciting events. The theme for this series is "Salute to Title IX." The players to be featured in this week's "Player Passion" series will be Jenna Hall, Rocky Spencer, Stacy Birk, and Savannah Long. Thursday is also Father-Daughter Night and Dollar-dog night! Friday, we will be saluting our Local Treasure, Ruth Hartman. Hartman, is a former pitcher and second baseman who played in the All-American Baseball League and is in the Hall of Fame.

On Friday night the first 200 kids will receive a free Majestic T-Shirt. Also, on Saturday the first 100 fans will receive Combat Sling Bags. Fans also have the opportunity to upgrade their general admission seating to VIP seating! Fans who bring a $10 gas receipt to the game will receive an upgrade to VIP seating. Receipts must show that the purchase was made the day of the game and the offer is good for 4 seating upgrades. As always, the Force will be available to sign autographs after all games.

The Battle of the Bats will also take place before the game on Saturday. Every Saturday, at all of the NPF stadiums, a designated player from each team will take 5 swings with bats of sponsoring manufacturers. The contest is on-going and at the end of the season, week to week scores will help culminate an individual winner and a manufacturer winner.

Also Fans, if you can't make it to the games, don't forget your other viewing options. This year, the Force will be streaming their games via the internet and each game can be purchased. Also, Friday and Saturday's games will be televised on Service Electric Cable channel 2 and Fox Sports Network will also be featuring Saturday's game as NPF Game of the Week. The game can be viewed June 12 in the 3-5 p.m. ET time slot.

Well everyone, we hope to see you at the games this week! The Force is playing excellent but your support is always needed and appreciated! See you at the stadium and GO FORCE!
