Philadelphia Force News Release

The Series

This week's series against the Bandits will be the final time these two teams will meet in the regular season. In the season opener, the Force traveled to Elgin, Illinois to face the Bandits at the JU Sports Complex. Chicago defeated Philadelphia four games to one, with the Force's lone victory coming on Friday in eight innings of play.

Chicago initially started the series off with a 5-1 decision over Philly. They then added a 4-0 victory in game two of the series. Following the 5-4 win by the Force on Friday, the Bandits managed to sneak by with a 2-1 win in game four. To close out the series, Chicago handed Philadelphia a 9-4 loss.

In the circle, newcomer Kristin Erb leads the team with a 1.00 ERA. In her two appearances, one of which was a start, Erb surrendered two runs on seven hits and struck out six. Behind her is Jessica Sallinger, who picked up the win on Friday. With a 4.67 ERA, Sallinger has a 1-1 record and has allowed six runs on nine hits in nine innings pitched. She also has eight strikeouts on the season, which ranks her first on the team and fifth in the NPF.
