Philadelphia Force News Release
Fairfax, Va.- The Philadelphia Force (13-15) were defeated by the Washington Glory (25-7) Saturday night by a score of 10-0. The Glory used five extra base hits, including three home runs, to complete the four-game series sweep.
The Glory's nine hit attack was led by Amber Jackson. She was 2-for-3 on the evening with a double, a home run (10th), and two RBIs. Also going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs was Jessica Moore. Oli Keohohou added a three-run home run, her ninth of the season, for the first-place Glory. A triple by Nicole Barber would give the Glory the cycle for the game.
Glory pitcher Sarah Pauly (11-4) was the beneficiary of the offensive output. She tossed six innings and held the Force to just two hits. Jen Musillo, who pitched an inning in Friday night's game, pitched the seventh inning and gave up one hit.
For the Force, Margo Pruis (3-4) started in the circle and went the first two innings. She was charged with five of the runs on five hits. Jodie Cox made her third appearance of the series, and pitched four innings. Cox allowed four hits, and both Force pitchers struck out three Glory batters.
After amassing 11 hits on Friday night, the Force could only muster three Saturday. Megan McAllister chipped in with a double, while Rocky Spencer and Emily Friedman supplied a single each.
On Wednesday, the Force will travel to Lowell, Massachusetts to take on the fourth-place New England Riptide. The Force enter the four-game series three games behind the Riptide in the loss column. The top four teams in the NPF standings make the playoffs.
