Philadelphia Force News Release
Over the weekend, the Philadelphia Force (17-7) concluded their first series with the Rockford Thunder (11-13). By going 3-1 on the week, the Force continue to hold the top spot in the NPF. This week, the Force will travel to Chicago to play the Bandits for the first time this season. The following week, the Force will return to ECTB Stadium to host Chicago.
The Force offense came alive this weekend as many players on the team played a part in the 27 runs that were scored against the Thunder throughout the series. Kellie Wilkerson is still leading the Force and the NPF with her .491 batting average. She has 28 hits and 18 RBIs in only 57 at-bats. Emily Friedman also had a great weekend for the Force. She had five hits, including a game winning home run in the second game of the series. Savannah long scored five runs and added three RBIs. On the mound, Megan Gibson and Katie Burkhart both improved their record. Gibson is now 6-0 with an ERA of 1.42, while Burkhart is 5-2 with a 1.71 ERA. Stacy Birk also picked up her first save of the season.
The Opponent
The Chicago Bandits offense is being led by Stacy May and Rachel Folden. May is leading her team with a .333 batting average and 26 hits. Folden is right behind May with a .315 batting average. She also leads the team in walks (19), home runs (6), on-base percentage (.526), and slugging percentage (.667). In the pitching circle, Kristina Thorson (3-5) and Jessica Sallinger (6-4) have been seeing the majority of pitching time for the Bandits. Thorson leads the team in strikeouts (53) and has an ERA of 2.90. Sallinger has the most inning pitched (58.2) with 47 strike outs and an ERA of 2.41. Jamie Southern has also picked up two wins for the Bandits.

Exciting Events
The Force will hold the Family, Fun, and Fitness series when they return to Allentown on July 21 to take on the Bandits. Monday, July 21 will be Capital Blue Cross Healthy Lifestyles Night. Katie Burkhart will be the Player Passion. Monday will also be college night. Any college student who brings their college ID to the game will receive VIP seating and a ticket for a free beer or a hot dog and soda for only $15. On July 22, Kristen Miller will be the Player Passion. On July 23 Coach Sabrina Lane will be the Player Passion and the Force will honor another Local Treasure. The Battle of the Bats will also be held prior to the game at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, July 24 will be Belle's Birthday Bash. For $20, Fans who sign up to take part in the birthday festivities will receive a general admission ticket to the game, fun, food, pictures with the mascots in attendance, and cupcake decorating. There will also be Mascot Olympics prior to the game at 6:30. The Player Passion will be Belle.
Camps and Clinics
The pitching and catching clinic on July 14 was postponed due to rain. The clinic will be rescheduled for July 22 from 10-12 p.m. The July 15 all-skills clinic will still be held.
