WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita Force (2-1) return home this week to host the Sioux City Bandits (2-1) at INTRUST Bank Arena on Saturday, March 28, 2015; kick-off set for 7:05 p.m. Winners of two straight, the Force head into the game after a big 43-30 victory over the Amarillo Venom last Saturday. The Bandits will make their way to Wichita after defeating the previously undefeated Salina Bombers, 73-59.

Wichita's game against Amarillo last weekend featured a low scoring defensive battle between the teams. Force defensive linemen Matt Moss and Chaquil Reed combined for three tackles for loss and defensive backs Dorrian Roberts and Evan Ray each pitched in with an interception. On offense, wide receiver Clarence Anderson led the way with 90 all-purpose yards and three rushing touchdowns, while wide receiver Dontel Watkins added two touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground. The fourth quarter was crucial for Wichita, as they turned up the heat outscoring Amarillo 20-7 to extend a three point lead heading into the final period for a 43-30 final score.

Sioux City handed Salina its first loss of the season on Saturday thanks to a strong first half that helped establish a 38-22 halftime lead in the Bandits favor. Bandits quarterback Charles Dowdell tossed seven touchdown passes and added a rushing touchdown, while running back Johnny Bentley added pace on the ground with 82 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Sioux City earned their second win of the season with their 73-59 triumph over Salina.

Bandits Player to Watch: QB Charles Dowdell

Dowdell currently ranks first in the CIF in pass efficiency with a mark of 137.7, fourth with 216.3 passing yards per game, and second with 14 passing touchdowns. In three games this season, Dowdell has only thrown one interception, a feat that places him first in the league. Dowdell is skilled when it comes to distributing the ball, with three of his receivers, Fredrick Bruno, Damon Mothershead, and Jeremiah Oates, all averaging over 60 receiving yards per game and at least one touchdown catch per game.

Force Player to Watch: DB Kendrick Harper

A four year veteran of professional football, Harper has totaled 37 interceptions in his career, while earning All-CPIFL Defensive Team honors in 2013 and 2014. Harper currently ranks second in the CIF with three interceptions, and first with four pass break ups. With Wichita facing a Sioux City team that is heavily reliant on the passing game, Harper's experience in the secondary is going to be a large factor in the Force's ability to stop a red-hot Bandit offense.

Kick off for Saturday's game is set for 7:05 p.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena with the Buffalo Wild Wings pregame show beginning at 6:45 p.m. Saturday night is also America's Heroes Night presented by Kansas National Guard. All military and first responders are offered a Buy One, Get One ticket special on sideline and endzone seating that can be purchased by calling the Force office or visiting the INTRUST Bank Arena box office. Starting at $10 in the Fan Zone section, single game tickets can be purchased at the INTRUST Bank Arena box office, over the phone by calling (855) 755-SEAT, at participating Dillons locations, or online at www.selectaseat.com.
