Force Record First Road Loss of 2016 Season

Wichita Force News Release

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force (4-2) dropped its first road game of the season in a stunning 55-58 loss to the Omaha Beef (3-3) on Saturday.

During the entire contest, excluding the end of the fourth quarter, the Force offense struggled to find a rhythm. QB Stephen Panasuk completed 14 out of 29 passes for 155 yards and six touchdowns. WR Clarence Anderson recorded two receiving touchdowns and WR Brett Soft added an additional four.

The Force's defense came into the game with several missing key pieces that have been the glue to the unit's overall strength. DB Chris Hemphill was absent on the field as a player due to a season ending knee injury.

The Beef defense capitalized on the Force's struggles and made nearly every series count in its favor. In the third quarter, the Beef managed to stop all of the Force's offensive efforts and hold the team to zero points scored while recording three unanswered touchdowns of its own.

In the fourth quarter, the Force made a strong comeback effort as Panasuk connected with Soft for two consecutive touchdowns in the last minute of the game. Both PAT's were good by K Connor Frazell but it was enough to bring home the win.

The Force will return to the turf next Saturday to take on the Bloomington Edge (2-3) at the U.S. Cellular Center in Bloomington, Ill. For all up-to-date information about the Force, follow the team's official Facebook page or visit www.wichitaforce.com.
