Philadelphia Force News Release
The Series This week's series between the Force and the Thunder will be the most important series of the year for Philadelphia. The Force will enter Roscoe Thunder Park looking to make a late surge into the postseason, where records do not matter.
What Just Happened Last week was a very tough week for the Force. With the loss of key starters due to other obligations, the Force was shorthanded against the Akron Racers. Akron swept the series to take a solid hold on second place in the league standings.
Team Leaders Pacing the Force's offense going into this very important series is Megan Gibson. Gibson who has a team best .280 average has produced seven hits and seven RBI's. Leading the team in the hits category are Emily Friedman and DeAnn Justice. The power hitting duo have combined for 26 hits on the year respectively, and have also produced 15 RBI's, four doubles, and four runs scored.
In the circle, rookie standout Kristin Erb had a very productive week for Philly. To start off the week, Erb went 7 1/3 innings in game two, and then went an addition four innings in game four. Combined the Lock Haven graduate tossed a total of four strikeouts and surrendered just four earned runs.
A Look Ahead Following this very important series in Illinois, the Force will keep their bags packed and head to sunny Florida to face the USSSA Pride. The Pride remain in fourth place in the league standings, and will have their hands full with a very hungry and determined Force squad.

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania Night includes "Operation:Cookies from Home" (The Force will be donating $1.00 for every ticket sold to help send cookies to the Troops and in turn the Girl Scouts will be celebrating the Forces "Cookies for the Rookies" with a presentation of a basket of the "World Famous Girls Scout Cookies" to our Force Rookies .The Girl Scouts Troops will march onto the field to help celebrate and sing Happy Birthday to our very own Belle (Force Mascot)
July 30 (Thursday 7:35) The Brew and Bill Show will be broadcasting live. Doggie Dress-up Night, sponsored by Sam's Club- Dress-up your Hot Dog with over 20 original or not so original topping during our Dollar Dog Night
July 31 (Friday 7:35) Majestic Night, giveaways, Michael Stershic, President of Lehigh Valley Convention & Visitor's Bureau (Local Treasure Recipient and First Pitch)
August 01 (Saturday 7:35) Lucky in Love Night, with giveaways
