Force Errors Prove Costly for Second Straight Game

Philadelphia Force News Release

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - It was another tough night at ECTB Stadium, as a total of six Force (3-15) errors proved costly allowing the Akron Racers (12-7) to walk away with an 11-0 victory Saturday night in front of 419 of fans.

Saturday's game was called in the top of the seventh because of rain and lightning, but it was the Racers' Angela Tincher that stole the show throwing a perfect game. In total the starting pitcher fanned nine batters on the night.

Despite surrendering the six errors, Forces' rookie starting pitcher Kristin Erb had another strong performance. Of the six runs she was charged with, only one of those runs was earned. In total only two Racers' runs were earned of the 11 scored at ECTB.

Offensively, Jamee Juarez produced a 2-for-3 night which included her second home run of the series in the top of the fourth. She also added two runs and two RBI's to her line as well.

The evening got off to a rough start for Philly as Akron put up three runs in the top of the first inning. They then made it a 6-0 game in the fourth and an 8-0 game in the fifth. It was in the top of the seventh that the Racers added an additional three runs to the scoreboard to secure the 11-0 win. Just moments after scoring their final run of the evening the sky opened up and forced the game into a rain delay. The game was then called moments later, when the rain showed no signs of letting up.

The Force will close out the five game series against the Racers tomorrow evening at 5:35 p.m. EST at ECTB Stadium. Sunday's game can be viewed live on the internet by going to http://www.philadelphiaforce.com/live.
