WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita Force (3-1) downed the (2-2) Sioux City Bandits in Saturday night's match up at INTRUST Bank Arena. Now winners of three straight, the Force battled to victory with strong defensive stands to keep the Bandits at bay with big plays from newcomer Elbert Mack, DL Latavious Davis, LB Jason Catchings and DL Chaquil Reed. With a steady line in front of him, QB Kyle Jech saw his first playing time in front of the Force crowd, going 12 for 26, with two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns and three interceptions.

The first half proved to be an even battle on both sides of the ball for the Bandits and the Force with back and forth scoring. The Force started their offensive action with a one yard touchdown run by Jech to put Wichita ahead early. Sioux City answered back with two plays together taking less than a minute, a 37 yard pass from Bandits QB Charles Dowdell to WR Jeremiah Oates and a short run by RB Drew Prohaska to give the Bandits a 14-7 lead. Jech came up big for the Force with a 47 yard run and his second rushing touchdown of the night, followed by a 12 yard pass to WR Brett Soft to recapture a 21-14 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Bandits outscored the Force 14-11 in the second quarter with RB Johnny Bently finding the endzone at the 14:20 mark. Hubbard had a 4 yard touchdown run for the Force to maintain a 27-21 lead over the Bandits, but Oates would catch his second touchdown of the night to credit the Bandits with a one point lead. However, momentum shifted in the Force's favor when Catchings wrapped up Dowdell for a safety and the lead. Lacayo capitalized on Catchings play with a 23 yard field goal to extend the Force lead 32-28 at halftime.

The second half of the game was all defense with just 17 points being scored between the two teams. The Bandits struck first with WR Fredrick Bruno finding the end zone to steal a 35-32 lead, but would not produce offensively for the rest of the game. The Force added to their lead with a 13 yard pass from Jech to WR Dontel Watkins and a 25 yard field for a 42-35 victory in the end.
