Philadelphia Force News Release

ALLENTOWN - The Thunder has traded infielder Audrey (Rendon) LaFountain to Philadelphia in exchange for the Force's second round draft pick in 2010.

"Some of our older force fans might recall that we lost Carrie Leto to NE because in between 2006-7, she got married and her husband lived in Boston. Well now we are on the receiving end. The former Rockford Thunder 3b has joined the Philadelphia Force so that she can be closer to her new husband. Audrey Renton-LaFountain is a 3rd year veteran whos natural position when she was a standout at Louisville is SS. We are hoping that she will fill the vacancy we have at that position with our trade of Chelsea Spencer. Great speed, defense and a productive bat are staples of Audrey and we are lucky to have her", stated Kleinman.

LaFountain, a two-year NPF veteran, played in 34 games during the 2008 season for the Thunder, finishing with a .245 batting average. She collected 26 hits on the year and saw action primarily at third base and shortstop for Rockford.

In two seasons with the Thunder, the University of Louisville graduate batted .263 with 53 hits in 202 at-bats. The Pueblo, Colo. native has scored 20 runs in two seasons and has collected four doubles, three triples, 10 stolen bases and 16 runs batted in.

"I am very excited to be a member of the Force! I am looking forward to playing with this talented team and meeting the fans! The Force is coming off of a stellar season and my hope for the 2009 season is to help continue that success, and win the NPF Championship" says LaFountain.
