Florida Sweeps South Honors, Cincy Takes Two in North

FT. MYERS, FL - The UIFL is announcing the weekly honors for the week ending April 7, 2012. The Florida Tarpons swept the South honors, while Cincinnati claimed two of the North honors.

Cincinnati receiver Kyenes Mincy (North) and Florida quarterback Chris Wallace (South) earn Conquest Cards Offensive Player of the Week honors. Wallace, in his first game with Florida, was 17-of-31 for 307 yards and eight touchdowns, while Mincy led the Commandos with 75 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He added three catches for two-point conversions.

The All-Star PR Cincinnati Defensive Player of the Week honors went to Commandos defensive back E.J. Underwood (North) and Tarpons linebacker Harriel Moore (South).

Underwood recorded his first two interceptions of the season, including taking one back 48 yards for a touchdown. He added two tackles and a pass breakup. Moore, who suited up for the first time this season, recorded eight tackles, 4.5 for loss and three sacks.

Johnstown's Victor Sesay (North) and Florida's Ross Gornall (South) claim the Trophy Awards Special Teams Player of the Week. Gornall was 7-of-7 on extra points with an UNO and an onside kick. Sesay blocked two field goals and hauled in a two-point conversion for the Generals.
